At the event, BASF | Nunhems will focus on optimization and digitization in the greenhouse: starting with the best genetics, how do you use advanced techniques to monitor growing conditions while increasing yields? They focus on developing new varieties that are more resistant to diseases, pests and climate change. Through digital tools and data analysis, they strive for a more efficient and effective selection of crop varieties. This enables growers to achieve higher quality and productivity while being more sustainable.
Maastricht University wants to show what will happen in Venlo in the field of research and education. That is why they are opening their brand new research greenhouse to visitors. In Venlo, UM works together with their partners to strengthen the innovative power in the region. They want to contribute to the technological innovation needed to find answers to major social issues in the agri-food sector. Agritech is therefore the ideal place to present their plans.

AgroWizard is a high-tech precision agricultural company focused on capital-intensive open cultivation such as tree nurseries, fruit growing and plant propagation. AgroWizard has their own hardware, software and data portal. In recent years, it has launched, among other things, a fully automatic yield meter for avenue tree and leek plant growers.

The Dutch agrifood sector is of strategic importance to Dutch society: thanks in part to the agrifood sector, our country scores well on the broad prosperity indicator. This is due to the positive effects on health, income, job security, housing, welfare and social relations in rural areas. At the same time, there are major challenges in terms of climate and nature goals, soil, water, biodiversity, landscape and animal welfare. Supply Chain Valley Agro Food supports stake-holders from the agro-food chain in their logistic challenges with a focus on digitalization, energy transition in the chain and circular flows: Directly "visualizing" steps in the chain, thus better monitoring, easier CSRD reporting and Carbon footprint reduction!
They achieve this by setting up projects with participants in the chain and partner companies, such as Pharox BV. The agro-food chain can thus be better orchestrated and also gets more "rest" in the operation. Approaching digitization in this way by linking to existing systems and using shared databases makes it easier to get in, even for SMEs!

The campus is located in the middle of one of the most productive, sustainable and profitable agricultural and horticultural regions in the world. Through the cooperation between entrepreneurs, researchers and the government, Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo is leading the way in Europe in terms of innovation in the agri food sector.
